The Joyful Praise Homeschool Choir is a non-profit
501c3 organization. The choir is made up of homeschool
students from Coweta and surrounding counties ranging in age
from 4-18. Our goal is to educate students in the
areas of music and drama, and train them to use their
talents as a ministry in our community. The choir performs
two musical productions each school year - one at Christmas
and a patriotic musical in the spring. The productions are a
combination of music, drama, and dance. This a delightful
and talented group of children. The jr. high/high school
students under the direction of volunteering parents design
all props and backdrops for our productions.
The choir also performs for various community events
throughout the year, as well as providing entertainment for
retirement homes and children‘s homes. The spring schedule
for our jr.high/high school group will include REEL FEST-a
statewide choral festival. Next summer the students have
another big event - the Son Power Music Camp in Orlando,
Florida. At Son Power Music Camp the students will receive
training in music, drama, and missions. Their mission
project will be conducting a day camp for a local housing
project.

CHOIR MEMBERS
A member of the Joyful Praise Choir must be
a committed student who loves to sing and praise God through
music. It is very important that students are present and
prompt at all practices, as well as performances. The choir
practices as a group, and when just one member is absent or
late it affects the whole group.
Students will be chosen on a volunteer basis for
drama parts and solos in our performances. If you are
interested, please indicate on your registration form.
Individual parts will require extra rehearsals. There will
be no auditions. Our choir consists of many talented
students. Parts will not be awarded for talent only, but to
those students exhibiting good participation, behavior, and
attitude, as well as promptness and faithfulness to
practices.
MUSICAL OBJECTIVES
The students will learn musical skills by
experiencing different rhythms and melodic passages. They
will learn to read music as they are taught to recognize
musical symbols, notes, and dynamic markings. Students will
be challenged to interpret the music as we sing together in
praise to God. The students will learn proper vocal and
breathing techniques. God has given us the ability to praise
Him in song with our voices. The music we use will be that
which glorifies our Lord. Students will be taught to sing in
harmony with each other, as well as perform individually.
Performing will give students the opportunity to
exercise those skills learned through performance.
